| Owing to the superbugs scare we are only allowed to loan out wheelchairs. Items such as commodes etc are considered a risk unless one has a completely sterile environment to keep them. My stable certainly does not qualify!

Litcham Red Cross run a medical
loan service that is meant for emergency use rather than the long
term. We try to avoid lending items like wheel chairs for more
than three months as social services should supply these for permenant
use. People recovering from operations, accident victims or elderly
patients find the equipment makes all the difference, and often
enables them to be nursed at home. In all we lend a total of approximately
150 items each year.
Recently the doctor's surgery in North Elmham has started referring
patients to us because the depot in Dereham has closed. This has
increased the number of loans considerably.
The Red Cross has been running
in the village for over thirty years and is pround to be a part
of the Norfolk Red Cross which is the leading county in the UK
for medical loans.
