LITCHAM PARISH COUNCIL

Meetings to which all parishioners are welcome, are held in the Jubilee Hall on the first Monday of each month (usually except August and January) commencing at 7.30 p.m. and the first part of the meeting is made available for public discussion and to bring matters to the attention of councillors. Council meetings will normally take place on the first Monday of each month, but this could be subject to change in any one month. Please consult the Notice Board for the date or contact the Clerk on 01362 861112.

L.E.G.S: LITCHAM ENTERTAINMENT GROUP

Rehearsals for the next pantomime are underway so if you finding yourself stuck for things to do as the darker evenings draw in, then why not join us on a Thursday evening at Litcham Methodist Church from 7.30pm.  If you don't fancy being 'on stage' then help is still needed in various ways; back stage, front of house and catering, to name just a few.

Litcham COMMON CONSERVATION Group

Meets every second Saturday starting at 10.00 am in the Common car park off the Dunham Road. L.A.G.S. - Litcham and Area Ladies Group

Meets on the second Wednesday of the month for a chat and a cuppa. We arrange the odd outing or visit a garden or have lunch somewhere nice.  We are always ready to welcome new members,  subscription: £6 a year (goes to charity).

COFFEE MORNING at the Methodist Chapel

The Methodist Chapel in front street is open for Tea/Coffee every Thursday morning between 10.30am – 12.00 noon .

In  the three years since these coffee mornings started they have proved to be a very popular meeting point for folk in the village and beyond. If you would like to see for yourself, come along any Thursday between 10.30a.m. and noon, you will be given a warm welcome.

PRAYER GROUP

Come and join us for prayer for the community of the Upper Nar.

A Prayer Group for the Upper Nar Benefice meets for about an hour one evening a month.  The venue is always the same, Litcham Farm House, Tittleshall Road, Litcham.

Litcham YOUTH CLUB

A Sport orientated Youth Club for ages between 5-16. Cricket, Football, Tennis and much more.

Tuesdays & Wednesday evenings at the High School

Football: Training on the High School playing field Saturday mornings during football season (10.30-12.00)

Sunday Matches, League teams from under 8s to under 15s.

Cricket: Saturdays and Sundays - teams from under 11s to under15s.

Sports Activity Week: usually the first week of the school Summer Holidays.

Mobile Library

A mobile library visits Litcham every two weeks on Mondays between 9.45 a.m. and 11.00 a.m. stopping for 15 minutes each at the Post Office, Manor Drive and Litcham Close.

A non-denominational coffee morning is held every Wednesday in the Methodist Chapel in the High Street between 10.30 and noon.
ALL WELCOME

COFFEE MORNING

A coffee morning is held every third Friday in the Village Hall from 10.30 to 12.00. Freshly brewed coffee and tea plus delicious scones and cakes, all for £1.50 per head. Come along, bring your friends and meet new ones and support this month's charity.

MILEHAM WALKS

'Walks' isn't quite the right word; they are more of a gentle amble looking at the various trees, shrubs, flowers

and wildlife.

These ‘Walks’ are for anyone interested in seeing parts of the Mileham Parish not generally open to the public.

Bring your camera, binoculars and stout walking shoes plus an interest in your village surroundings.

Thursday mornings, usually starting from Burwood Hall.

MILEHAM CARPET BOWLS CLUB

Started in 1985, Mileham Carpet Bowls Club meets on Wednesday afternoons in the Village Hall from 2:00pm to 4:30pm.

The Bowls Club is open to all members of the village and surrounding area, currently we have a membership of eight.

There is no need to have any sort of specialist equipment to be able to play Carpet Bowls, just come along and join in.

The cost for the afternoon’s games plus refreshments is £2 per session.  This year as we have had two big celebration birthdays one of 90 and the other of 80 so you see you are never to old to join.  For more details contact Muriel Harmer on 01328 701 424

BEESTON 'GOOD NEIGHBOURS'

COFFEE MORNINGS on the 2nd Friday in the month in Beeston Village Hall, from 10.30am to 12.00noon.

Tea,coffee, biscuits and home-made cakes available also sales tables and plenty of chat!

The lunch club continues to be well attended and attract new people.  We welcome people both from Beeston and other villages, with everyone enjoying the good food and the opportunity to meet up with friends or get to know new acquaintances.

Weekly lessons at Great Dunham Village Hall, (2 miles North of the A47, between Dereham & Swaffham)
Every Tuesday evenings from 7.15 to 10.15 pm. A great mix of Jive, Swing, Rock & Roll, Latin & Dirty dancing.
It’s easy to learn - no foot work - well almost !! We dance to a wide mix of music, from Swing to today’s charts.
It’s really good exercise and very sociable! Not just a dance class - more like an evening out!

I am holding Junior Billiards Coaching sessions at West Acre Village Hall from 4:00pm to 7:00pm on Mondays at a cost of £2 per player.

All players 8-18 years boys and girls are welcome to join our friendly coaching group which has produced 6 national champions in the last 5 years.

All standards of cueists are welcome including total beginners, who will receive coaching from our 2 EABA national coach's (CRB registered).
