Armistice Day

As a school we remembered Armistice Day on the 11th November and sold poppies.  Oak Class has been studying World War II this autumn and were asked to write an acrostic on the word Battle Field.  Here is the work of Thomas, Year 6.

             Brutality throughout the land.

             Anger within everyone

Trip wires waiting for that one false moment

Trampling on carcasses as they march into no man’s land.

Lungs packed full of smoke as the guns roar with rage.

Endings for many a man’s life as they stare into that horrible moment that has happened in time.

For every bit of fire a funeral has happened.

Ignorance as the Nazis swept the land with no care.

Elite troops charge into battle not thinking of what may come.

             Loved ones lost for everyone.

Death to Hitler and death it was.
