The Children’s Centre is here to provide services to families of 0 – 5 year olds.

We are are open 48 weeks a year and cover the following Villages:

F E B R U A R Y


Litcham Childcare would like to welcome Shannon, Freya W, Georgia, Freya H, Ollie and Rhys who joined childcare in January.  They are settling in well and making lots of new friends. If you are looking for childcare please call soon as places are very limited.

This month the children will be busy practising their pancakes ready for Shrove Tuesday.  This is also the month where the children will be busy in the garden.  There is a lot of tidying to do ready for planting in the spring.  There is a lot of work to do before half term!


Bad weather warning - The website to check for emergency school closures is http://www.schoolclosures.norfolk.gov.uk.  Alternatively you can tune into BBC Radio Norfolk 104.4 which will also give you a list of any school closures.  If Litcham Primary School is closed due to bad weather, Litcham Childcare will be closed too.  However, If Litcham Primary School is closed for any other reason, it does not necessarily mean that Litcham Childcare will be closed so please call 01328 701703 to find out.


Extended Schools

Please ensure that you book your breakfast and after school club sessions as a lot of sessions are now fully booked.  The next holiday club will run during half term being week commencing Monday 13th February.  Hopefully you should have received a brochure but if you would like one please call Litcham Childcare on 01328 701703.

LITCHAM CHILDREN’S CENTRE

Litcham Stay and Play toddler group – Stay and Play runs on Wednesday mornings from 9:15-11:00. There is a small charge of £1 per family which includes refreshment.  All new families are welcome to attend, no booking is required.  Please call the Centre for further information on 01328 701703.


Little Wrigglers - The group is held on Thursday mornings from 9:30-11:30 at the centre.  This group is for parents/carers with children under 15 months (mums to be also welcome).  Weigh and Play will be held on the first Thursday of each month (Thursday 2nd February) where the health visitor attends to run a clinic.  One of our family workers attend the group each week and are on hand with any advice or information needed.


Monthly Messy Mondays – This is a new group held at the Centre on the first Monday of each month (the next session is on 6th February).  This is a group for parents/carers with their children under 4 years, where creativity is the key!  If you would like to attend this group please call Leanne on 01328 701703.  There are only 10 spaces available each month so please note that booking is essential.


Toy Library – The toy library are holding a drop in session every Friday at Dereham Children’s Centre from 10:00am – 12noon and 1:00pm – 2:30pm.


C Card

Litcham Children’s Centre is now C Card registered.  We hold a drop in on Wednesdays from 9:00am-12:00am.  You can also call for an appointment on 01328 701703 if you would like a certain time.


Toms Group (Twins or More) A group for families who have twins or more.  This is a group for families to meet and share tips and advice on multiple babies/children.  Other siblings are more than welcome to attend together with parent/carer helpers.  The group will run at the Centre on the third Monday of each month (Monday 20th February) from 10am – 11am.  Please contact the Centre for more information.


Childminding Support Group A group specifically for childminders and minded children to meet and discuss topics such as policies, risk assessments and any other matters arising.  The group is held on the third Wednesday of the month from 12noon – 2pm. You are welcome to bring your lunch and eat during the group. The next session will be held on Wednesday 15th February.


Volunteers Needed!

If you have any spare time and would like to help us in deciding on what services the Children’s Centre delivers for 0to 5 year olds in the area, you might like to join our Advisory Group. If so please contact the Centre Co-ordinator, Pam Arrowsmith on 01328 701703.

We would also be grateful for any volunteers in the Centre. We are always looking for helping hands to help with the running of groups in the area. For more information please contact Pam on 01328 701703. All volunteers will need to complete a CRB check.


Tittleshall

Tittleshall Stay and Play – A friendly group held in the village hall on the first and third Tuesday of each month (7th and 21st February).  The first Tuesday group is a Music and Movement session.  The third Tuesday is a normal stay and play. There is a small charge of £1 per session which includes refreshments.  If you would like any further information please contact the Centre on 01328 701703.


Harpley

Harpley Stay and Play (held in the Village Hall) runs on a Tuesday morning from 10:00-11:30.  There is a small charge of £1 per family which includes refreshments.


Longham

Stay and Play – Held at Longham Village Hall for parents and carers with children under 4, will run on the fourth Tuesday of every month from 1:00pm – 2:30pm (next session 28th February).  There will be a charge of £1 per family which includes refreshments. There is no need to book, just turn up on the day, everyone is welcome.


Story telling Workshop – Tuesday 14th February 1:00pm – 3:00pm.  Litcham Children’s Centre are running a story telling workshop at Longham Village Hall.  The workshop is aimed at children aged 5 and under, but older siblings are welcome to attend.  There will be lots of fun activities including story telling, arts and crafts, making Valentine cards and lots more.  No booking is required, just turn up on the day.  Call 01328 701703 for more information.
