The Society had quite a good
year, we mounted exhibitions at Bayfield Hall and the Swaffam
Middle School, both exhibitions went very well thanks to the had
work by our members. The members also organised a trip to the
Spalding Butterfly Park.
Our Annual Party was held at Lexham Hall by kind invitation of
our President Mr. N. W. D. Foster and Mrs Foster. A very enjoyable
evening thanks to our hosts and June Bevan who did us proud with
the Catering. (It was nice to see Maggie Secher of Radio Norfolk
Entertaining.).
We have had numerous request
for help in researching Family Trees during the year.
The Society is pleased to see the Bull Inn restoration is nearing
completion and we wish the new tenants welcome and every success.
We hear that the Inn has been given three stars by the tourist
board. We still stock the Litcham, Lexham and Mileham book and
welcome new members.
N.B. It would be nice to see
more of the Parish Council at Village functions.
The society was unable hold it's film show this winter owing to
the non-availability of films from County. The problem should
be resolved shortly.
