I
expect you are all wondering when we are going to get our new Rector.
You are not the only ones. What I do know is that the Church Wardens of
our Parishes are working together to put pressure on the Diocese as it
will be two years come September that the interregnum began. But we are
so lucky to have all the people who help with our services (I’m
sure I speak for all the Parishes) to a big “thank you” to
them. So, as they say, watch this space.
It’s
a quiet time in the Churches calendar but there is always a warm
welcome at all the different services. Why not look in the front of
this magazine to see the days and times and pay us a visit, you are
most welcome.
Again two more very local ladies have had funerals last month.
The
first was Mrs. Archer senior, you may have seen her on her mobile
scooter up and down Druids Lane, laid to rest on Friday, 30th May. Our
prayers and thoughts are with Colin and Paul and the rest of the Archer
family who will all miss her very much.
The
other is Mrs. Pearl Manning, beloved wife of Dougie who, I know, will
miss her very much. Pearl spent the last 13 weeks of her life in the
Queen Elizabeth Hospital, King’s Lynn and Dougie never once
missed a day to visit her. Pearl was in the RAF during the war and
later a post lady in Litcham. You may remember her. She also told me
she used to do her bit in the church with cleaning and flowers many
moons ago. As they are close neighbours of mine, I know Alan and I will
miss her as will her extended family. God bless Pearl and our prayers
are with you too, Dougie.
My prayer this month is a Gaelic blessing:-
May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sunshine warm upon your face.
May the rains fall softly on your fields.
Until we meet again
May God hold you in the hollow of His hand.
Until next month
Love and God bless
June
